GFX2 vs STX: The Difference Between Twin Vee’s Two Lines

At Twin Vee’s factory in Fort Pierce, every boat begins with the same foundation, a stable, smooth-riding catamaran hull. Whether it’s a 26-foot or a 40-foot offshore center console boat, each Twin Vee model is built to deliver comfort, strength, and performance offshore.
But not all Twin Vees are the same. The company offers two main model families: GFX2 and STX. They share the same core structure and ride, but their features, finishes, and pricing are tailored to different types of boaters.
Same Hull, Different Purpose
Both lines start with Twin Vee’s vacuum-infused hull. The deck and hull bond together as one solid structure, creating the brand’s signature soft, stable ride. This design allows each power catamaran to cut cleanly through waves instead of slapping over them.
As the Twin Vee CEO explains, “The STX is the same great Twin Vee running surface. The hull is made the same way as the GFX2″. So, performance on the water doesn’t change. What separates the two lines is what’s built above the deck.
The GFX2 Line: Premium Design and Custom Features

The GFX2 line is the premium option in Twin Vee’s lineup. It combines offshore performance with luxury comfort. Every GFX2 includes an integrated extruded aluminum top that mounts flush into the console for a clean, strong design.
Each model offers powder coat color choices in white, black, or Silver Platinum. The three-part baked coating ensures durability in saltwater environments.
Inside the helm, the black acrylic dash and matching steering wheel set the tone. Owners can add integrated push-button controls or Boca-style push buttons for modern usability.
Upholstery and Comfort

Twin Vee uses top-tier materials for its GFX2 upholstery. “The upholstery that you find here at Twin Vee is from a company that you’d see at a half-million-dollar boat,” Joseph Visconti explains. The captains seats adjustable arm rests and bolsters. Our in-house upholstery department creates a generously padded set of helm seats to off comfort for the longest boating days offshore.
The optional Sport Package upgrades the look with three-tone upholstery. Silver carbon-fiber accents, black piping, and embroidered Twin Vee logos add luxury touches. Owners can also request to personalize the embroidery on their new boat build with their family name or fishing team logo through their dealer.
The GFX2 interior focuses on comfort and ergonomics. A wide bow seating area feels larger than the boat’s size. This makes each of our layouts feel larger than they really are. Removable backrests, raised toe-kick areas, and insulated storage compartments make every detail functional.
Fit, Finish, and Function

The GFX2 console shines inside and out, thanks to a double-finished liner mold that matches the boat’s exterior gloss. A tempered tailor-made glass windshield with dual wipers adds yacht-quality visibility.
Rod storage is another highlight. Most models include 25 to 30 rod holders, plus matching Euro rod holders and rocket launchers.
Rear seating folds down for easy cleaning and storage. A removable drop board (a hinged acrylic door on the 240 models) provides safety for small children and open access to the water.
Lighting on the GFX2 is extensive. Each boat comes with forward and aft floodlights. The 260 GFX2 in the video above does feature the custom addition of a stronger floodlight.

The upgraded Super Duty Twin Vee ladder folds down for easy access. It also includes two rocket launchers and a cutting board insert, turning the transom into a functional prep station. Our customers love the sturdy aluminum frame that feels secure to use all the while staying compact and out of the way when not in use.
The GFX2 line is ideal for owners who want premium materials, advanced features, and offshore-ready durability with a refined look.
The STX Line: Practical Performance and Value

The STX series focuses on accessibility and value. It offers the same hull design, strength and ride quality but with simplified systems and materials that reduce cost and maintenance. Twin Vee built the STX line for families, charter captains, and boat clubs that want performance without the extra luxury finishes.
Helm and Layout

The STX helm replaces the GFX2’s acrylic dash with a clean, open console ready for any electronics package. Instead of integrated buttons, it uses a rocker switch panel for straightforward control.
Each STX comes with a stainless-steel steering wheel and a built-in aluminum T-top. The T-top connects to the console rather than the deck.
Lighting remains a standard feature. Every model includes forward and aft interior floodlights and three-sided acrylic weather protection.
Seating and Storage

The STX interior is efficient and open. The forward bench comfortably fits two people and includes cup holders, grab rails, and footrests. Buyers can choose between single- or two-tone upholstery with Twin Vee stitching.
The boat includes a large insulated cooler under the front bench and two removable coolers at the stern. Both are fully upholstered for comfort.
An optional Frigid Rigid livewell adds built-in tackle storage and a plumbed bait system for fishing-focused owners.

Easy Maintenance and Access

The STX is designed for everyday use. Rear panels open for quick access to pumps and wiring. The foldable stainless-steel swim ladder with handrails makes boarding safe and simple.
By trimming luxury options and keeping the systems straightforward, the STX line offers the same performance as the GFX2 at a more approachable price.
Which Twin Vee Is Right for You?
Choosing between a GFX2 and STX depends on your priorities.
If you want high-end finishes, integrated systems, advanced lighting, and custom upholstery, go with the GFX2. It’s built for boaters who want comfort, personalization, and a premium offshore experience.
If you want the same ride and build quality but prefer a simplified layout that’s easy to clean and maintain, the STX delivers it. It’s perfect for family use, charters, or anyone focused on practical performance.
Both share the same infused hull, the same smooth ride, and the same American craftsmanship that defines every Twin Vee.
No matter which model you choose, you’ll get the balanced performance, comfort, and stability that make Twin Vee catamarans some of the best offshore center consoles in the world.
